FATIMA HOSPITAL OFFERS CERTIFIED DIABETES EDUCATION
CLASSES

Do you know how to manage your diabetes? If not, or
even a little unsure, you may want to register today
for Fatima Hospital's 5-week, ADA-Certified Outpatient
Diabetes Education program starting Thursday, April 15,
2010.
Led by dynamic certified diabetes educators including
a registered nurse, pharmacist and registered dietitian,
this course will cover topics including how to monitor
your blood glucose and what the numbers mean, the importance
of exercise in managing diabetes and how to get started,
how to keep all of your medications straight, learning
to live and cope with diabetes and how to best take
care of yourself and prevent the complications of diabetes.
Participants will meet and gain the support of our
faculty and others who share the diagnosis of diabetes,
as well as the opportunity to receive an individual
session with a dietitian. Sessions will be held at Our
Lady of Fatima Hospital, 200 High Service Avenue, North
Providence, and run from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Thursdays,
starting April 15.

Space is limited to the first 20 participants. While
there is a fee for this service, most insurers cover
the cost of these classes.
As an American Diabetes Association certified program,
the Diabetes Self-Management Education program at Fatima
is recognized as meeting the national standards for
excellence set by the American Diabetes Association.
